Ok. So I fought the good fight, I'm going to rescape.
What method should I use to make sure I don't bring any of the algae into the rescape?
Kris- You saw the algae on the Pantanal that I gave you. It's not Cyano, It's not common hair algae...

As last resort. Otherwise, manual removal, good maintenance/water changes, and ferts in equilibrium.

If it stinks, it is cyano. I battled with it for a year in my 125, and then I used erythromycin. In two days all the cyano was gone and it has not reappeared. Just make sure you do large water changes a couple of days after using the treatment to remove the dead bacteria.
