Persicaria?

Post by scientist0724 »

I was playing out in the streams in Reston with my boys yesterday and came across a couple of plants that look like Persicaria. The one on the left looks like P. Virginians, but I don't know what the one on the right is.

Can someone help identify the two for me?

Thanks!

Arlene

Yes. May be virginiana, but that's an easy one to ID if you have an inflorescence (flowers white and widely spaced), non-aquatic habitat, etc). Will be easy to do both with inflorescences.

Okay, the next time that I go to the stream, I'll see if they have flowers and I'll collect some for you to ID.

Thanks Cavan.
