Quarantining new fish before putting them in an established aquarium is a standard recommendation, but I haven't seen anyone recommend quarantining new plants. Given that a number of fish diseases (particularly the external parasites that cause ich and velvet) can exist as cysts, isn't there some risk to adding a new plant to an established aquarium?
So do any of you quarantine your plants? If so, how would you do it? A standard fish quarantine tank is just a glass box with a filter and heater; what more would you need for a plant quarantine tank?
Forgive me if I sound paranoid, but I do computer security for a living, so I'm professionally paranoid.
