Hmm wonder if I could build it to suck in duckweed but NOT red root.

Pull out enough red root to start over.....then clear the tank....you of course would have to wash the roots of red root to make sure you are clear of duckweed

problem is that EVERY tank has duckweed. I was hoping that the red root could out compete the duckweed.

I'm plagued by duckweed in 2 tanks that I cannot get rid of it it seems. I think this will definately help. Even with the billions of pounds I pulled the other day, today I'm starting to see it again already.

Any ideas how to get the weed and protect the critters? my problems are in my endler and shrimp tanks. During my cleanout the other day I must've taken a dozen baby endlers and a handful of shrimp. At the time I was so frustrated that I claimed they were going to have the make the sacrifice for the greater good, but I don't want that to have to continue.

I'm doing everything in my power to ensure none of this crap gets within 6 feet of the 125.

I know that I was losing endlers to filters at first but eventually they became a bit more aware and avoided the current that led to their doom.

Hell when I dumped the endlers in the 55 they went from having no predators to being instant lunch.

Now they are prospering by hiding in the floating plants.
