My Coralife compact flourescent hood just went bust. The warrnty has longe expired. I have a 75 gallon tank and need to get a new light fixture. How long will my plants survive with out light and what is the best lighting to get. I do not want to get another Coralife fixture due to problems disconnecting the bulbs. I wanted to know if anyone knows about JBJ light fixtures or any other ones that may help me.

I think for aquarium lights you can't beat AHS. It's web site is http://www.ahsupply.com/ and I've found them to be very helpful on the phone. They also answer emails...
