I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Waiting for the new billing period in a couple of days.

We should have done a group order with delivery for the March meeting. Probably could have saved some shipping. Oh we'll...

Cheers.

My lights arrived yesterday, but I have been too busy with work to even take them out of the box. I'm hoping I don't have to work ALL weekend, so I will have enough time to install them in the canopy and try them out.

I installed my new fixtures tonight. I like the quality of the new fixtures (super nice quality) and they mounted nicely in my canopy. The plants are pearling nicely under the new leds.

However, the light is different than the light I was seeing with the Giesesmann aquaflora T5HO bulbs (light pink in color) combined with the Giesemann midday T5HO bulbs. Instead, the new lights are more stark/less yellow/less warm. Perhaps it will just take me some time to get used to the new color of lighting. My husband thinks the new lights look nice, so maybe it is just me and that I was used to seeing the other colored light.

Anyway, I sent a note to the Buildmyled.com folks explaining my situation. I'll be interested to read their response.

Does anyone iknow if there a way to know how to mimic the light from the Giesesmann aquaflora/midday combo?

How about just adding a low wattage incandescent under the hood. Low tech but it might give you the cast you find appealing.

Sounds like the plants are happy though.

Is there still room under the hood?

Perhaps a small aqua flora or similar could be added.

Yes, there is still room under the hood, but I have to lift the darn thing every time I do tank maintenance, so I don't want it to get too heavy. I'll be interested to hear what Nick has to say. I went with the more warm light configuration, but it is still much less warm, than what I had before. I wish I knew a way of measuring what I had before so, I could mimic it with LEDs.
