The violet is absolutely beautiful! I tried to adjust my camera to get the pink in the leaves and the deep purple of the flowers, but I don't think I did it justice. Can you believe how big the leaves are???

Just a gorgeous plant!

I'd like some violets please. I will be at the next meeting, so if Jen would bring it, I'd be most appreciative. Hey, I may even take a cat from Jen.

Mine is healthy, though so it's not gone crazy or flowered, either. I suspect Arlene has babied hers more and given it lots of plant food, while I've just kept mine on a water diet. One thing that's interesting is that all the new leaves emerged variegated pink, not white. I think it might be because though the window is east facing, it's in a very bright location (big office window, 10th floor).

I"m going to try to do some culturing this weekend. I want to brush up on technique so I get the most out of the workshop at AGA. Any suggestions on easy stuff to try (besides violets)?

Food shouldn't be nessesary just yet since they were freshly repotted. Maybe in another month you can start feeding them. It should flower soon.

For tc, try pineapple!

I'm not really doing much for mine. The pot faces a west facing window, so it gets afternoon sun. The variegation on mine is both pink and white. I water the plant once, maybe twice a week, but I do fertilize mine every two weeks with the leftover orchid water/fertilizer solution. Maybe that's why my plant has been flowering for a while now and the leaves are huge.
