It's definitely filling in nicely. I'm glad that you haven't had any algae problems so far. I presume that you have your CO2 cranked up to promote the growth? If you start seeing any deficiencies, you'll want to start dosing. Chances are, it'll start with K, and go from there.

It looks good, and Blyxa will look nice in their too!

Check your CO2 levels. Large tanks w/ good circulation consume loads of CO2.

I don't know if I have asked this elsewhere before, and if I have, obviously, I do not recall the answer that was given to me, so please forgive me up front if I am being redundant. that disclaimer in hand...

is there a way to get a carpetting kind of look in a low light, low tech setup? I really like that look, but don't really know how to go about creating it.

No. No fish or shrimp yet. I just ordered 50 cardinals, though.
