The sword picture is a really nice one, as it shows the plant in it's entirety. The anubias flower is a nice picture, but overexposed on the top of the flower. BUT, neither of them are blurry, so your making progress. Don't get too frustrated... It's not easy to get a nice picture.
What often helps, is backing away and not zooming in so close. This will often times provide sharper focus on the subject (depending on the camera used). You can then use photo editing software (almost all computers come with a basic program) to crop and resize the photo.
Good choice, i think you'll be really happy with it, I know I am with mine.
Actually I like the AAs. They really came in handy in Kazakhstan in the cold. Everyone with their fancy-shmancy cameras and Li-Ion batteries or whatever, the cold would suck the juice right out of those, and I was the only one able to take pics for any outside duration.
You can do rechargables, during my research I found most people with this camera were doing that and very happy with it, but i find that I can get a lot of photos, even with flash, on a set of AAs. Besides, I've got a 2 year old in the house, AA batteries are on our weekly stocking list. lol
