75 Gallon Update 4/23/07

Here's the new scape of the 75 gallon over at our apartment. It's all Crypts and Anubias so far. Here's the plant list:

Crypt moehlmanii
" parva
" willisii
" balansae
" albida
" cordata 'rosanervig'
" ponterderifolia
" wendtii x hybrid
Lagenandra meeboldii
Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia ''1705''
" barteri var. 'nana golden'
" barteri var. 'nana narrow leaf'
I've yet to decide on a foreground plant.

The whole setup. The stand and light stand are custom build by me.

The light stand. (idea compliment of ianiwane and bharada) This was done using electrical conduit from my local hardware store. I bought the bender tool to do this so if anyone else in the club wants to borrow it to make one you're more than welcome.

Nice looking setup Aaron. So, for those light holders made from electrical conduit, are they attached to the tank/stand? Or are they freestanding themselves? It looks pretty sharp.

I think those rocks you collected will look really good against your black sand after they darken a little it from algae/etc. Mine always darken quite a bit after they've been in the tank a couple months.

Oooh! That light stand is what I've been looking for. How is it attached/standing? It would be great for MH lights.

I used pipe straps to screw the pipes to the back of the stand. One other tool you will need is a tubing cutter. I'd let you borrow one except that I had to borrow one myself.

Die algae die!!! For those of you who saw the nuclear waste dump that this tank once was you know what that is in reference to. Here are the fruits of my labor finally shining through. Now if I can just keep my fingers off of the ferts bottles....:mrgreen:

Oh yes, looks much better!

Is there anything behind the rock on the left? Dead center between the rocks is missing something, maybe small a bushy. Blyxa japonica maybe? Or to keep the low maintenance a smaller crypt

No tricks...just keep out of the fert bottles and let the shrimp and nerites go to town. It's almost all gone now. :D

Behind that rock is C. ponterderifolia and C. cordata 'Rosanervig'. They weren't doing so hot, but they seem to be turning the corner.
