The cardinals came in. 48 survived the ordeal. They're smaller than expected. Now I have to learn how to feed them with so much current in the tank. I also got an undescribed pair of Nannacara. Of course, they are behind the hardscape, but once they put on size... I finally planted some blyxa, too.
Next step dosing. Has anybody ever thought of using an IV drip bag for that purpose? Just wondering.

Oh. The nannacara will get too big to allow cherry shrimp to flourish, so I think I'll seek out Amano shrimp. What do you guys feed shrimp when there is no algae?

Tank's taking a dive. Since I've added the fish the glass is turning green. Is it time for an algae team? The only other fish I've considered are a bristlenose pair and L201 for dead fish clean up.

Green spot? I always have to deal with it in my setups - the 180g is finally past it, 75g and 50g still going through it.

The entire surface of the glass...where the few snails, that are left, make trails through it. Is that what you mean by green spot? I thought green spot was the dark green disc type algae.

I checked the algae article on the site and it is know as green dust algae. Yes I think bristlenose are in order.

Bristlenose won't do much to the green dust algae. Nerite snails are your best defense. It will pass soon enough too as the tank grows in more and continues to mature.

Additionally, with green dust algea, you need to let it complete its cycle. Don't scape off the algae - leave it there for 2-3 weeks. It'll get crusty and then flake
off. Its a painfully slow process but its the only way IME that algae has been
'defeated'. Oh - and I'm sure you're not adding any ferts - but it does seem to
enjoy iron - so don't give it any.
