Know its short notice but a few members and I are going to be visiting Riverbend Park along the Potomac on Saturday and I thought we would open it up to any that wanted to participate since it is a local trip.

We are planning to meet at the park Visitor Center at 1030 and go exploring from there.

Collecting for fish?

Plants mainly....wasnt planning to take any fish. Its an option if you have the right license, I wasnt looking to mess with that. Ghaz recommended it as a good location to find plants.

I'm collecting whatever looks green, lives under water and doesn't require wading through too much muck to get to. I'm not expecting much but look forward to spending some time in that nature stuff for a change!

Guys, please be careful at that park..... Every year they have to fish out some poor dead person who slipped in the rapids....

I dont plan on actually going out in the river. Shoreline and streams running into the river in the park of which there are several are where I plan on focusing. Better be safe and bring a rope to throw around Jen though.

Gee, thanks Rob for the concern. Like *I'm* the one who's going to be going near danger! We'll just have my dad's old buddies at the Coast Guard station on alert.

Might be fun to watch the news Saturday night just in case

I'd be up for it, but I'd probably have to bum a ride, at least on the way back.

Edit: I'll have to make sure my other commitment doesn't interfere. I'll definitely be doing something one of the two weekend days, but I'm not sure which one. I'm thinking I'm doubtful.

Woman pulled out of water by rope......big mop of red hair is all we can tell you at this point, Bob. Looks as if she is going to be ok, although she may not be driving the speed bump much the next few months.
