June (fixed due to my being stupid) meeting??

Post by JMLenke »

Wondering when it is, where and all the fun stuff.

We may have new members or visitors soon, I am pimping GWAPA and PVAS at Super Pets while I am at work.

The meeting schedule is always online and updated on the homepage (bottom right), or on our yearly schedule:

Oh, and the next meeting is the 23rd of June, not July.

Jeff, at the meeting, ask Sean for some GWAPA business cards that you can hand out to customers at Super Pets.

Those cards will be great, I may have one of the employees joining GWAPA and I have had a few customers (I am being picky and not choosing the 50 fish in a 10g because it is pretty people) actually interested. One guy named Pierre (IIRC) yesterday (Discus keeper self taught) seemed interested in both PVAS and GWAPA.

I thought Robert lived in Frederick, MD. Is Braddock Heights in Frederick?

Confused

Braddock Heights in definitely NOT in Frederick - we are terrible snobs and don't want the city taxes (ours are quite high enough - they definirely tax having a view). They would love to annex us but we will fight as often as necessary to aviod annexation. Technically we are on the low ridge of Great Catoctin immediately west of the city.

The community centers on the post office. We do not have home mail delivery of mail. If newcomers decline to get a POBox, they are asigned a Frederick MD mailing address (sneaky people).

We generally say we are Fredrick area, or just west of Frederick - nobody but locals know where Braddock Heights is. From the expressways, we are the exit after Frederick's multiple exits - a clear distintion to us at least.

Now I'm doubly confused - I thought the June meeting was in Reston, no? It is in Braddock Heights?

The June 23 meeting will be held at Michael Barber's home in Reston.

Robert (dare I say traditionally) hosts a GWAPA meeting in August (this year on the 25th).

And that solely because Robert's bananas and taros are at their peak Aug- sept, and they are his favorite (non-aquatic) plants. They are a heck of lot more intersting than my tanks botanically (unless algae intrigues you).

Mike;

I'm bringing a few pieces of Bolbitis heudelottii that we talked about at Sean's house for your stream tank.

So who else will be there?

Cheers.
