Thanks

Vacuum?
I fear I'm becoming compulsive about my tank now that it's starting to look better but at the risk of complete surrender to this compulsion I've decided that I should finally clean the substrate a bit. Since this is a bottom drain tank I don't have any pumps or hoses over the side. Is there somethin...

Re: GWAPA 2015 Aquascaping contest
I'm probably in the minority but I only have one tank and would never rescape it radically to meet some contest objective. If I can enter the contest with what I have, perhaps tweaked up a bit, and if family obligations aren't an issue then I'll enter something. Otherwise I'll just be an observer as...

Re: Aquarium "Life Hacks"
I found that using black sign vinyl worked well. No painting, no smell. Available at any sign shop. Did it in my family room with the help of my wife as a big piece of paper was difficult to handle by my self. The two of us did it in 15 minutes or so.

Re: CO2 Tank attachment question
I think I have a spare in the basement that I'm going to look for some fresh o-rings at the hardware store.

CO2 Tank attachment question
I've always had trouble with my 20lb CO2 not lasting very long...like weeks rather than months. Based on some back of the envelope calculations I once did a 20lb tank should easily last over a year on a aquarium my size. So today when putting everything together I decided to make sure that everythin...

Re: in-line pump
I'm not sure I'd want the pump on the inlet side of the filter. I think all the Eheim filters work by putting the pump on the outlet side. This means the canister interior pressure is reduced rather than increased particularly as the flow rate drops. If you put it on the inlet side I'd be worried ab...
