Re: April meeting

I will be bringing: 2 Bags of ULTRA RARE Tank Grown Anacharis. 1 Bag of Ceratophyllum demersum var "Green." (as opposed to all the other types you've seen). (Tank Grown) 1 Bag of Cabomba caroliniata "Purple," which has never really looked all that purple to me, just dark greenish...

Re: Aquarium News - Rimless

If you want to see an 80 gallon set up as a plant tank, that's my current primary tank. :) Though, I've had it for about 12 years now.... it's a custom job that I got used. But, identical dimensions.

Re: vertical planters

Considering how dry most of our homes are, even with aquariums, I wouldn't worry ... :)

Hey Shahriar -- they probably won't sprout, but what's the worst that could happen by trying? :)

Re: Leaking CO2 good for anything?

I'm thinking that maybe the CO2, soaked into the soil, will slowly bubble up and help the plant? I don't know that this is anywhere near significant enough to make a difference. It's already at 390 ppm, so adding a few bubbles doesn't seem like much, but ... maybe it could effect the local concentra...

Leaking CO2 good for anything?

So, I've had my CO2 unit up and running now for a month or so. I know that I'm losing small amounts of CO2 through using regular airline tubing, from some of my connexions not being perfect, and especially where the CO2 bubbles make it to the surface. Has anyone ever experimented with growing terres...

Re: DIY Peristaltic Autodoser: A Detailed How-To

I have a lot of airline fittings that slip off, and have never thought of doing this... Genius. The rest of it is cool, too. :p

Re: Tips on how to remove needle valve?

Considering who is having the trouble here ... one other very important piece of advice. Tighty righty, Lefty loosey. :P +1 to heating it with a torch or iron. Also, try sliding a piece of PVC pipe over the handle of your wrench, and using that to increase your torque. As a fish geek, you probably h...

CO2 and Excel

Okay, so I finally got my CO2 unit up and running .. though I really do need to calibrate the pH meter so I know how much is REALLY in there, but ... anyhow.... I have half a bottle of Excel and a nearly full bottle of CO2 boost from Aquarium Pharm (their brand of Excel, basically). Will I see any b...
