I used 3M T grade for my 125, and regular aquarium gravel (brown pebbles from probably a chain store) in my 20 high. I am happy with the 3M, and I feel okay with the latter one (I couldn't scape the brown pebbles much if I wanted to).

Answer to Jeff's question 3: I have mineralized soil and no CO2 in my 125, and I have never had an algae problem in that tank (not even green water). I only raised one batch for my 125. They are pretty easy to breed except that since they lay a few eggs in every couple of days, it's difficult to raise them in large quantitites I think.

As Jeff said, Tropical Fish World in Gaithersburg does have them usually.

I am for the mixed option. What if we make the in-house meetings open only to members? How many members do we have anyway?
