I'll be coming. Anyone want to carpool? I'm fine with either driving or being a passenger, whatever is easiest. I'm in Catonsville, just southwest of Baltimore (beltway exit 14 or 15), and very close to Howard County.

Hi Kris, I had been leaning towards starting Excel; glad to know my instincts were correct. Your explanation of when to start dosing made perfect sense. In coming weeks, I guess I'll watch the plants and just take it from there! Any thoughts on the Azoo Palm Filter? I ordered it the other day when I...

So how are everyone's nanos coming along? I started mine just under two weeks ago, and good golly, things are actually growing! Some cloudy water in the beginning, but after getting the tank fully planted, and doing some (ever so gentle) water changes, the water cleared up very quickly. I'm also hap...

I'm pretty new myself. I've been reading a lot, and have a dosing plan that seems to be working for me, but there's certainly a lot more I could learn. It would be interesting to hear about the different methods the more experienced folks are following and why. I'm sure that not everyone is doing th...

I'm glad the water's clearing for you Judi. Here's one other thing that might help in the future. When Amano came to the AGA in 2004, he demonstrated how he sets up and plants a tank. Basically, he fills the tank with substrate, sets up the hardscape, fills in gaps in the hardscape with more aquaso...

Oh my, definitely some cloudy water here too! Kind of serves me right; I was feeling a bit smug after filling the tank ever so carefully, and seeing minimal clouding. "OK, so it's a little cloudy, but what's the big deal?" I thought. And then I planted my Downoi, and saw big billows of bro...

I'm hoping I can make it, but won't know for sure until tomorrow. If I don't make it, can someone get my nano tank and I'll get it from them later? Maybe one of the Howard County folks? I'm in Catonsville, so Ellicott City and Columbia are pretty close to me.

Yes, great meeting! I had a bit of a chuckle when I got my plants home and got a good look at them. See, there was a mystery plant in my tank that had come in on something I got at last month's meeting. It was grasslike, but definitely a stem plant. I kept meaning to post a picture and ask for an ID...
