Been doing this for years. One caution though - it may also trap fish which may perish in the trap. I've found for that reason it is best to check it regularly. It is effective even if you leave the lights on.

Interested in some flame moss and/or the short from of bolbitis. The rest of the easier stuff I have. I'd have to get back into CO2 and ferts to grow a couple of those.

Tricolor sword - recommended algae treatment.

I have a tricolor sword that I want to move to a new aquarium 45g. Problem is that it has algae on it - interwoven green mat type. What would the GWAPA experts recommend as a treatment to kill the algae and not kill the patient (plant) with the treatment? I'd prefer some type of dip before moving.

Thank you - It is over-running my 110g and it flowers all the time on the surface. Pulling bunches today - will treat some with alum and fluke tabs and the rest I'll feed to the worms which will then be fed to the corys.

Mesanthenum sp. 'africa'

I purchased this last year at one of the club auctions. I cannot find anything about it at all on the internet nor on any of the "expert" aquatic plant websites. Can anyone provide any further info?

Amazon trip - Collecting Red-spotted Green Discus

At my request MT Amazon Expeditions (formerly Margarita Tours) has laid on a trip up the Nanay to the Pintoyacu river (85 miles up from the mouth of the Nanay) for 31 July to 6 August 2011. The Nanay is the river that has the Peru Red-spotted Green Discus - see this article http://www.aquatic-expert...

Catfish Convention - Margarita Tours Special

Come see me at the Margarita Tours table in the vendor room. If you sign up and pay the deposit at the convention you'll get $100 off the cost of the trip. Next trip is in Jan/Feb 2011 to the Napo and Mazan rivers - the only place where I've seen "Amazon Sword" plants. Or plan on going in ...
