I think the 215 suffers from cloudy water because of the halogen lamps evaporate the crisp, clean, clear water too quickly. Plus given that much candela power is going to show any flaw in the water. I have used the Clarity product from Seachem with very good clearing results on cloudy water. Y...

A couple of years ago, PVAS held a semi-annual auction and fish show in the , where some fish did not fare well in the water provided at the show, which had been treated with Prime. Andrew B. made a comment following the show to the effect that Prime may not be the most suitable product for norther...

I know this is mainly a plant club but I must say the following. For small volume water changes you could possibly add the water without treatment but it is important to stress that the amount of chloramine in the water can vary greatly. The water treatment plants occasionally increase the amount of...

John Chloramine is a disinfectant put into many municipal water supplies. It is replacing chlorine use because it is much longer lasting, so it continues to provide a disinfectant action in supply pipes, (chlorine typically loses its capacity to disinfect) it (chloramine) also does not react with or...

If you still have that Wolfia sp. picture from Florida Aquatics you should put that in the Gallery page.

Since inquiring minds want to know. I have two kinds of duckweed. One is red on the bottom side of the leaves and grows happily in a few buckets. The other one is light green in color and grows happily in a 30G tank. It also has the added benefit of being bite sized for the Goldfish. :D

I have been using one of the Zoo-Med rotating power heads to pull water through the sponge filters in my Goldfish tank and it works very well. The GF seem to enjoy have the random current in the tank. I have not experienced any problems cleaning the power head. In order to keep this an official plan...

I have had good dealings with Fishworlderie. If you want pure endlers strains the only recent collection I know of was paid for by swamp river aquatics. (www.SwampriverAquatics.com) I am saddened to see that he has been crossing some of the wild stock with guppies. If you want more specific informat...

The largest tank I have ever kept an Endlers colony in was a 30 gallon tank and that was plenty of room. As for aquascaping I had a bunch of Java Moss, Narrow Leaf Java Fern, Lace Java Fern. Did not even need any substrate.
