I think they'd do well with your Fundulus diaphanus but would eventually kick the heck out of your bluespotted sunnies. (Which your F. diaphanus may yet do them also. Keep an eye on them if you've got them in the same tank.)

HiYa Marge. I've kept them on and off numerous times through the years. It's true, they are scrappy, both with each other and with other tank mates. They do eat their fry, so if you want to propagate them, you'll need to either pick mops or rotate a trio through heavily planted tanks with gravel on ...

Thanks, all.

Food, water, and sunscreen are definitely good ideas. I usually forget all three and am sorry for it. I don't burn easily, but I've gone home from a lot of trips hungry and thirsty.

And if you're among the follicularly challenged, like some of us, a hat isn't a bad idea either.

OK. Our the Great Potomac River Snakehead Hunt III is officially scheduled for Saturday, August 9 at noon. We'll meet in the parking lot of Riverside park, which is just north of the George Washington Home in Mount Vernon. If you have seines, bring 'em. I recommend you get a Virginia fishing lisence...

I can't say for sure. We'll be parking from the Virginia side, and seining in Virginia bays and creeks. I was under the impression that the reciprocity was more for boaters who drifted into Virginia waters from Maryland.

To be safe, I usually just by a short term Virginia lisence.

Well, I think the odds are against us getting checked for a lisence. I don't think I've ever even seen a game warden. But I'd still have to advise you to get one. If you're part of a group that's seining, then it might be up to the game warden to decide whether you're part of the group or not. Plus,...
