Re: PH Monitors

Np. One thing to consider, when you calibrate a ph probe, you use 2 reference solutions. For reefs, this is 7 and 10. For many freshwater is 7 and 4. Depending on if your target is above or below 7, this will determine the solution you need. Not sure of your target for Africans and co2.

Re: PH Monitors

Depends on several factors. Something like the milwaukee will do continous monitoring, but you have to look at it. You can start getting into aquarium controllers if you want the data recorded. I have used Apex units for years with decent success, but you are going to pay. You do get the benefits of...

Electrical Conduit Light Hangers

Found a new product and figured I would share. Makerpipe.com sells end caps $5/10 and heat shrink tubing $8/10ft for 3/4 electrical conduit designed for desks. Nice aesthetic touch for anyone interested and seems pretty durable. Couple tips, first blow into the collapsed heat shrink to decompress it...

Re: Light dimmer and leopard tiger shrimp

I have used the cheapy dial ones from amazon for led strip lights for a diy algae reactor. They work, but are extremely sensitive. If the dial rotated 1 rotation, the light changes were made it 10% of the band. The astra lights have the same thing built into their stock cable.

I have ordered from them a couple times for tissue cultures. Always had good luck and healthy specimens arrive. I will say that all of the shipping companies suck right now, so any order is at your own risk.

Re: Ideal PAR for High Tech Tank

Thanks kris. I tried to simulate with water in the bucket. Depth is 2" shy of the actual, but the substratewill be raised a few inches. As for plants, I would like a lot of stems in the background, with erios, crypts and some others in the foreground. I drew up a makeshift paint roughly of what...
