Baking soda will raise the KH. Easy and inexpensive.

I was getting a KH of 1 or even close to 0 from my
tap - even bubbling air through it would cause the
pH to crash down to 3.5. I had to use baking soda
at every water change to keep the KH up around 3-4.
This year it seems the tap is giving me a KH of 2
and I havent had to add any baking soda.

From what i've read on the krib and other websites, 30ppm or above can be unhealthy. I believe I've killed inverts with very high co2 concentrations, 7 shrimp in ~10 hours with a diy setup. Now i kill shrimp strictly through predation.

1/2 teaspoon per 100 liters = +1 dH in KH<edited><editID>Cory</editID><editDate>38294.4996412037</editDate></edited>

Double post so i'll include the conversion for liters to gallons here, 1 gallon = 3.785 liters

In a 75gallon tank you'd have 284 liters, so roughly 1.5teaspoons to raise the KH 1dh.<edited><editID>Cory</editID><editDate>38294.4993518519</editDate></edited>

For the 'clear' section of a reactor, if i were to use a "python head', would i be able to use the 'purple primer' and cement to affix it to the pvc ends ?
