Thanks Julie!

Julie, thanks so much for hosting! This was my first time visiting your home, and I must say both it and your tanks are beautiful! And the food was great, too! Sean, thanks for your talk. That chart from Dr. Ole Pederson really floored me - if I understand it correctly, it pretty much means that CO2...

Re: Sept Mtg Food and Misc thread

It looks like we might finally make a GWAPA meeting! I think it's been 7 or 8 months. Not sure yet whether it will be just me, or all four of us (Amy and the girls), but we can make a crock pot of vegetarian beans (probably black, since I don't know how to make refried, LOL).

Very intriguing, Sean! Would you recommend the grow lights or the 6700k aquarium lights? I want my CPs to grow vigorously, of course, but I would like them to be pretty, too, and not just purple, LOL.

Re: High light suggestions for a corner bowfront

Or maybe we are taking about different things- I was looking at the LED fixtures that screw into standard light bulb sockets.

Re: High light suggestions for a corner bowfront

Yeah, I was just looking at some of those online. I could easily build a hood that had three of them.

High light suggestions for a corner bowfront

So we have this 54g corner bowfront we got from Kris a few years ago, and which we are going to turn into a southwestern Australian carnivorous plant biotope. These plants live in full sun, so I need something really bright and roughly triangular, LOL. Any suggestions? In a perfect world, I'd custom...

Joe, whenever I have tested my tap water, I've found about 10ppm nitrates. Might want to test your tap.

Re: Filters

George, while I'm sure there are some folks in the club using sponges, you'll probably find a much greater percentage on CCA or PVAS forums. Lots of folks there swear by sponge filters and a reliable air pump for large fish rooms. Most plant peeps won't go near the things because they are ugly as si...
