Re: Elocharis sp Red
Looks like something that'd only occur in the exact right conditions.

Re: Selling Plants at BFD...
We are following the CCA rules. Do not forget that GWAPA sponsored the event with $50, and that's why we are getting a marketplace table which can be manned by two individuals. If we wanted to be stingy and unsupportive, we could have just paid for a table and save $20 (I think a table cost $30). B...

Re: Selling Plants at BFD...
Guys, I want to take a moment to remind you that this event us CCA's major fundraiser for the year. It seriously hurts the club if people who don't register for the event gain free entry and free participation in group buys, etc. CCA is covering shipping for group buys - that is part if paying for e...

Re: Selling Plants at BFD...
No. Tell them you are manning (womanning : )) the GWAPA table. I will be there at least 30 minutes before the marketplace opens, by the way. Viktor - I think what we discussed was that each table would get 1-2 admissions with it. If there are a few folks who will be working the GWAPA the table the ...

Re: Fluval Plant and Shrimp Stratum
 Or get a good pair of tweezers to plant deep enough and skip the salt ‘n pepper substrate look. (Sorry, Becca. Still Love ya!) I guess it would do that in a rimless tank. In my 55, it just all sits on top and the "salt" is below the bottom trim, so I just get the dark substrate. Of ...

Re: Fluval Plant and Shrimp Stratum
I like it for the reasons Jen stated. Doesn't break down as fast as Brightwell. I usually mix it with some sort of sand so there's something with a little weight to hold plants down. Even if you have a deep substrate layer, it's really light weight and it can be tough to keep plants rooted in it whe...

Re: DIY moss wall.
Plastic canvas. You are welcome to come look at mine after the the meeting at Viktor's, I'm only 10 minutes away (7 if you drive like Viktor). I re-did my original design maybe 10 months ago and found ways to improve on it that helped keep the canvas from collapsing while allowing me to better seat ...

Re: January Meeting
I'm planning to be there. I will try to bring something, but may not get to it since I have dog training in the morning and no work-from-home day this week.

Re: Interesting accidental observation - Co2
I feel like if you've got fish this kind of situation of "trying not to waste" CO2 by limiting surface disruption could go awry pretty quickly.
