Re: Help me make some wise filtration and substrate decision
Eheims are actually probably the cheapest filters you'll ever own over time. They're the Volvos of the aquarium filter industry...they cost more up front but they last so darn long that they're very inexpensive in the long run. I still use the first one I bought almost 40 years ago. I have several E...

Re: Guess the Plant
I have 2 (maybe more hidden) baby Madagascar Lace plants growing. Once they get a bit bigger and I know they will survive, I will likely pull my big plant and bring it to auction. It is a bit big for my 37g and I have to trim it back on a weekly basis. I hate it when that happens! Sounds ...

Re: Guess the Plant
Huh! I'd be interested in either one but timing is terrible. I'll be away and I'm going to miss the meeting.
Actually, I'm dying to try an A. madagascariensis in the 110. Anyone know of a good local source?
Cheers.

We should have done a group order with delivery for the March meeting. Probably could have saved some shipping. Oh we'll...

Re: Buildmyled.com
From the TPT "Hoppy" article on lighting, high light is anything above 50umoles. The 48" Freshwater standard product is 85umols. It sounds like a single 48" might be adequate for a planted tank. Am I too optimistic? EDIT: Just went to their forum and it appears that a single sti...

Re: Help me pick out some fish.
Apistos and Cories look great together in a planted tank, but the Apistos have a certain fondness for shrimp.

Re: Buildmyled.com
I've been looking for the past few months at various LED options, and in my opinion this is the best option on the market. I totally agree. While I'm very happy with the TMC lights I got from American Aquarium Products, the owner of Build My LED is a light geek and he can show you how your light wi...
