Are there new fish to your setup? My blue eyes rainbows, P. signifer, are hard on one another, I dunno how the larger ones act. Flukes are a possiblity but it is also not practical to watch and say you diagnose the fish. If I think they are able to take it, I use kosher salt and prazi on my new fish...

I think that's a problem w/ them, they are really shy, probably 40 of them were on the bottom of that drift wood. They aren't very aggressive feeders either. Maybe they are nocturnal or just boring. The ones that i can find sit under a rock overhang in my tank.

Cardina sp. "purple zebra"

I found the amano shrimp tank at AC and no one was around, on the 2nd shelf there was "purple banded shrimp". After about 5 minutes of trying to swish them outta the plants, i found them hiding under the drift wood. They are tiny ~0.5", and banded distinctly, here's a forum link with ...

I would take a look at some of the plants used in the discus tanks of the AGA competitions too. They are really aren't demanding fish, unless you want to grow "perfect", round, long lived fish (8yr+).

Sean, are there other steps that i could use to further enrich my florite gravel? I didn't make it to the meeting where you talked about soils back in May '04. This is a very cost and time prohibitive hobby for me over the last year.

I can put some root tabs under them, and will see if that'll make the difference.

Hope your not too disappointed Sean, the plants still have 15+ leaves and they do grow a lot of new leaves. I'd say at least 1 per week splits off of the an older leaf.

Crinum deficiency

Do crinums generally struggle in Low PH? I am growing a ton of leaves but i'm loosing some through yellowing in the middle usually, and sometimes in the tip...this causes the SAE to eat the dying part then they eventually sheer off the rest of the leaf from the blub. This usually happens to leaves f...

I have a puddle of greenwater in the backyard, that is quite accidental but i guess it works for now. i think if i filter to 200um before use i've got a GW source. My other discovery in the yard was about 40 rose of sharon I need to pull up and pot to line my fences.
